Christmas

There is so much to say about Christmas..we had a lot of fun and were very busy..it started on Christmas eve with Shane's family. We went to his Uncle Joey's for dinner and presents..It was fun..The following morning we got to wake up to see what Santa brought us...Austin decided it was time to get Keira up...



I started video taping the kids opening presents up, but decided it was more important and enjoyable to join in..Santa was VERY good to the kids..Austin got an airplane ride on that he "shares" with his sister...




After that we got ourselves motivated and headed out Bryan to spend the day my family..it was a lot of fun..the kids had a blast which is the most important thing..once again I opted for participating instead of recording, so there are just some pictures..Oh and once again "santa" was VERY good..Sunday had us hosting our own Christmas with my dad and cousin..my sister and nephew joined us as well..it was lots of fun..Shane cooked some good food, lots of desserts were eaten and too many presents opened..that would almost complete our holiday season..Except Mom still has something for the kiddos at her house, we have Shane's father to visit and some friends to catch up with..WOW...

I Thought Hurricane Season Was Over

So I spent 10 minutes on the phone booking Austin's birthday party..it's amazing what he can do in that space of time..

Her Inner "Martha"

It's a joke around the family that i have an inner "Martha"..well it looks like Keira is following in my footsteps...She loves to cook, but especially loves to bake..She had so much fun just rolling them out and decorating them..I told her I didn't care about the mess, have it..and she did !!!!

We took the kids to look at Christmas lights in this awesome neighborhood we go to every year..well we did it old school..we stopped and folded down the seats and let them run around the back of the car..Austin didn't really get it, but Keira had a blast..

Keira's Christmas Pageant

Keira's pre-school put on a Christmas pageant this year..it was alot of fun..this was my first time into that kind of "entertainment"..the whole thing was too long to post, but I did add a video of her "twirling"...Her teacher asked me if I knew what Keira's part was and when I told her Keira told me she didn't have part she corrected me..Keira is a twirling Angel she told me..Great I said, Keira loves to twirl..Yes, that's why we have twirling Angels this year..lol..It's great

Christmas Tree..

Well we all know that we go every year and cut down our Christmas tree..this year we had to find a new place..it was great..they had a huge "valley", free hot dogs, a smores cook area and a tractor ride..the kids had a great time and we had a beautiful tree this year...

They did have a tire run there..PeePaw helped Keira with it..the guy that runs the farm said he has never seen a tire go so far..



As customary we normally have family come over and help decorate..this year we were joined by MeeMaw, PeePaw (Shane's parents), my dad and my cousin Johnna..it was a really good time..tamales, spiced wine and National Lampoon's Family Vacation...can you get better than that? We did have a "Keira hole" if you look at the decorating pictures you can see where there is a hole that is above Keira level, but below Momma level..lol..we did get it fixed..now we have a hole that is Austin level..ha ha ha

It's A Crazy Time

The holidays are finally over..It has been a crazy month..I can't believe that your son will be a year old in less than two weeks...I do have LOTS of videos and pics that I will be uploading "soon" so you can see what they have been up to this month..

The Baby is Becoming A Little Boy

So we have all heard that girls are the talkative ones..Well that is true around here too, but Austin is giving her a run for her money..he babbles all day long, but he is actually talking too..his vocabulary has gotten really good..
He will go to the back door when the dog is out there and say "dog"
Or if the dog isn't out there he will say "out"
He has finally learned "UP"..now he really uses it..lol
Of course he's got "Mama" and "Daddy" and "Hi"..
Shane said yesterday he walked into the room and said "Hi Daddy"
Today when he was done with lunch he said "all done, up" which is what I ask him every day when he finishes so he can tell us
You know how he loves his baths..well he can say bath too, he will bang on the tub and say "bath"
Yesterday he walked into his room when I was cleaning and told me "Up", when I picked him up I swear he said "butt"..he needed a diaper change, BAD !! I could just be hearing things though..you never now
Ask him if he wants to leave and he will say "bye bye"
If you watch the videos in the previous posts you will also hear him say "Hug"
He has said Keira and Grandma, but that was more repeating..

It's amazing how much he has changed in the last month..I was looking at pics the other day and told Shane it's amazing at Keira's party we were trying to get him to even crawl, now he runs around the house and talks to us..
He is having major teething issues right now..He had the 4 "beaver" teeth..we have one more on the top on each side that have broken through, but not all the way down..There are two more on the bottom in the same spots that pushed up, but never broke through and went back down a little..one of his molars on the bottom has cut through about halfway, but the other three are very swollen and sore..All this teething and really screwed up his eating..Keira is finally eating more than him..ha ha ha..actually they both are fighting some little cold so have a cough and runny nose on top of all of that..But we are looking forward to Christmas and hopefully his teeth will all be in by then..here's keeping our fingers crossed

Austin Just Playing

I caught him yesterday playing with his Little People..he stacked them on the table out of the tub and then once back to the tub...He was very serious about it..it almost looks like he is looking for one particular one..when he finds it, he brings it and throws it on the floor..he loves to throw things against the tile to hear the noise..



Then he runs to the "baby" in the oven, and realizes ..oh he forgot his tiger..You can just see his little gears working..You can also hear him say "Hug" when he comes up to me..just one more word he has learned...

He Can Stand Up

Two nights ago Shane looked and me and said "did you see that?" I said no, what...Austin stood up all by himself with pulling on anything, well I missed it..I got this the next day on my phone..he's got it now...

Silver Falls Reunion

We had a little get together yesterday with all of Daddy's friends from the "old street" and their little ones..Phil and Beki came over with Reagan and little Taylor, Toug and Lindsay came over with JD and Aunt Kellie and Uncle Shannon were there to just love on all of us (me most though..hee hee hee)We had lots of fun and lots laughs and lots running and lots of good food...

JD thought it was really funny when Tikaani broke the rules and scratched on the door...


A great time was had by all..it was so much fun that Austin is still asleep as Mama types this at 7:49 in the morning !!!

It's Christmas Time...

We always start the Christmas season the Friday after Thanksgiving by going to walk the lights at Moody Gardens..This year went to look at the lights with Uncle Shannon, Aunt Kellie, MeeMaw and PeePaw..the lights were alot of fun to look at..Austin didn't care too much..he was more interested in just running around..

Keira made a place mat for her school Thanksgiving dinner..she had to write what she was thankful...all I have to say is aawwww....

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was very busy this year again..We had a wonderful dinner at MeeMaw's house..Aunt Kellie and Uncle drove all the way in from Florida to have dinner with us..Grampa and PaPa came over..The turkey was really good..After dinner at MeeMaw's we went to Grandma's and got to play with Abby and the rest of the family..We had to pose in Canadian gloves..not sure why, but Grandma told us to..All in all it was a good day..

Austin and Kota

We brought Kota back into the house..Keira still plays with him (even though she is getting kinda big for him), but Austin loves him..He "dances" when the music goes off and he smiles and runs to him when he talks..it's really cute

Day At The Zoo

We went to the zoo today and had a BLAST..Lindsay and JD joined us..JD was born a little over a month after Austin so they get along great and are just fascinated with each other..guess they both aren't used to seeing other "little guys"..Keira was really sweet..she would wait for JD and ask him if he saw the elephants and if he liked the fishes..I am really glad to see that she can be sweet to other little ones, not just her brother..It was a beautiful day..

Ren Fest '10

We took the kids to the Renaissance Festival today..it was a good time..We shopped, we ate, we rode elephants, we ate, we played games, we ate..lol...MeeMaw and PeePaw went with us..Austin and PeePaw BOTH had their first elephant rides..

Shane's Birthday

Shane turned 30-something today..He went to the Lone Star Rally with Terry and then came home for Keira to bake him a birthday cake..she had so much fun..she wanted to make him a green cake since green is his favorite color (the color of money), but they didn't have green icing so we bought sprinkles..oh boy did she add the sprinkles !!! lol..

Our Little Tank

Austin had his 9 month check up this week (yes I know it was a little late)..he is 30 inches long and weighs 22 lbs. 14oz..The doc was thrilled with everything he is doing and amazed at the fact he is actually walking..most boys walk later than girls, so for him to walk this early is kinda odd..imagine that, our son odd..lol..The nurse at first didn't believe me when I said he could walk, she thought I meant cruising..so i planted his feet on the ground and off he went..lol..I finally had to cave and admit the boy needed bigger clothes..sigh..I bought 18 month winter clothes..they are little big, but not much..he has lost a little of his belly since he started walking, but that will change bcuz he out eats his sister most meals..ha ha ha..She is into the "I'm not gonna eat" phase again..she is doing well..loving school and growing to fast as well..I bought her some jeans this week and they were size 6 !!! If I went any smaller than they would be too short, of course you could fit both Austin and Keira in the waistband..So that limits my choices..I have to find ones that have the adjustable waist in them...

Keira's Not So Scary Halloween Party

"It's A Halloween Party"

For those of you that don't know the reason behind the "party"...We took Keira to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at WDW and she's been obsessed with having a Halloween party since then..The music you hear in the background of all the videos is the soundtrack from the parade, the fireworks and the background music of the park..I HAD to buy the cd..lol..It was still a good time...

JD Comes to Visit

Toug and Lindsay stopped by in between inlaws and brought their little "dragon" JD...Austin was enthralled with him...he's not used to other "little guys", everyone he sees is bigger than him..lol..too bad Austin hadn't eaten yet or he could have been in his costume..it was so good to see them...

It's Halloween !!!

We kicked off Halloween by carving our pumpkins...the kids had a blast

Halloween Parade

Today at Keira's preschool we had a Halloween parade..All the kids in the class dressed up and they put on a parade for all the family members in the big room..it was really cute...

Disobedience Class

Last night our dog (horse) graduated basic training..it was a 6 week course that I took with my mother in law and her dog, "Martina"..What is really good for us, you graduate no matter how well you do..lol..oh well, she's at least a little better behaved..now we are deciding on whether to sign up for the next course

Pumpkin Patch (Again)

Today we went to the pumpkin patch with the family..Peepaw and Meemaw met us there and we got to pick out the kids pumpkins..they had a blast..I can't wait to carve them..we are gonna do that next weekend so they don't go bad before Halloween..As Shane said this was so much better than going to Kroger and buying a pumpkin

Keira went to the pumpkin patch with her preschool today..We had story time, ran through a maze, and played with LOTS of pumpkins..Austin and Grandma went with us..Check out the photo album with all the cool pics..

Monkey Definitely Fits

Ran to the mall today and let Keira play at the playground while I fed Monkey..well he decided he had to play too...he was obsessed with getting up on top of the "slides"..he climbed and climbed and climbed and when some evil little child wasn't pushing him off he made it..I was quite impressed..the videos aren't great bcuz they were taken with my phone..

Getting Better

We took the kids to the park today..Boy Austin is getting a lot better at this "whole walking" thing..he was walking around the park today on the mulch..We also went to visit PaPa and he climbed his stairs all by himself (that would be about 10 stairs)..I wish I had gotten video..I will try and get it next week..

And He's Off

On Monday (Columbus Day) Austin took his first steps by himself at my mom's house..On the Friday before at my cousin's house he let go of me and just stood there by himself..I was kinda in shock and worried as well bcuz I knew it was the beginning..He has been obsessed with walking since he was 5 months old..He would walk in the walker before he could even crawl..now he's off..He took three steps on Monday, walked the length of the couch on Tuesday and on Wednesday he was done..He refused to walk..I guess he proved he could do it, why bother..lol..Seriously he has been walking holding one hand for a couple of weeks, now he's on his own..he will walk if you set him on his feet and let go, he will not crawl to something, pull himself up and walk away..not quite there yet, but it won't be long..he wants to go soo bad

Walt Disney World

Keira at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Most of you know we took the kids and my dad to Walt Disney World in September. We had so much fun and have so many stories and so many pictures we would be here for hours if I wanted to tell and show them all. All that needs to be said is we had so much fun it was worth every penny (no matter what my husband says)

 

We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge in a two bedroom suite with my dad. Keira got to wake up every morning and bang on Grampa's door to come out and look at the giraffes outside our porch..

Austin got his very first haircut at an old time barber shop at Magic Kingdom and it comes with "ears" that say first haircut..

 

We did get eat dinner in Cinderella's castle with 4 different princesses..That was amazing..She enjoyed it so much..

Austin even had fun, he picked up all the princesses..

Actually Austin picked women up EVERYWHERE.. Shane taught him to wink at women and smile..oh boy was he a ham all over the parks

Keira Started School

We finally found a preschool for Keira to go to..She goes to Kingwood Pentacostal Church pre-k program..Three days a week for 3 hours and she loves it !!! I am so happy..She did have some adjustments problems especially since she went for one week and then was pulled out for one week, but finally settled down..

 

She looks so old and grown up, but she really loves her teacher and is thriving..I am glad that we did this bcuz next year she will be just thrown into a big class and not get the little extra attention she needed to adjust

 

She came home that night after refusing to tell me anything about school until Daddy got home and made us sit on the floor in a circle so we could talk about her day..Shane asked to sit on the couch and was DENIED..she said he HAD to sit on the floor..I had to chuckle over that one..

Way behind..

So I think I have this thing figured out..The videos aren't posting like I want, but that's something we can deal with down the road..I will try and catch up with everything that has been going in the past couple of months..If I skip over something or miss something, then oh well deal with it..lol

New Blog

So I have been trying to figure out how to use this blog thingy..I have two friends that this is second nature for, but for some reason I just don't have the hang of it..I need to get busy on this bcuz i have lots of family and friends that don't actually use Facebook and would like some updates on the kiddos...so we will consider this a test run...
