"Momma I Can Do It"

Well while on vacation we decided to give Austin a little more freedom...we let him walk around without a leash and just depending on him listening to us..he did really good, most of the time the only issues were he would see something and just STOP in the middle of the walkway or kinda get distracted and walk off..lol...but we did notice he LOVED to push the stroller..only problem: HE WASN'T TALL ENOUGH !!! So he would tip it down til it did work, which would dump EVERYTHING off it...then he would get mad when we didn't let him push it !!

The Rest of Vacation

Of course you knew I would eventually get back to the rest of vacation...Now onto the day 5..We went to Disney Hollywood Studios (after the whole Rapunzel thing)..Of course I still call it MGM (since that's the park it was for years)..anyway..Truthfully this was a laid back kinda day...there isn't alot there for the kiddos to ride so we wandered a little bit..when we first got there we sent Shane to Toy Story Mania with all the park hoppers so he could get us fast passes to use later (it's a pass that good one hour after you get it and helps you get through line faster)..well come to find out the ride was so popular our fast passes weren't good for another 5 hours !!!! Oh well....we had lunch (and BEER) at Sci - Fi Cafe

..Poor Keira was so confused, normally I shut off the tv when she eats..this time I told her to sit down and watch tv while she was eating...ha ha ha..we of course did Muppets 3-D again...Keira didn't want to and kinda threw the "i'm scared" fit (more show than anything else)..we did get to see the Pixar parade which was pretty cool...Austin slept through it, Keira hit high 5's with everyone and the adults? Well the adults drank beer (do you see a theme here?)..

We did make it to Disney Junior the stage show..it was really cool (if you are into puppets, screaming kids, things falling from the sky, loud happy music and did i mention puppets?)..But the kids LOVED it and it now has JAKE AND THE NEVERLAND PIRATES !!! That's such a huge deal in this house..we will get dressed in the living room before school if we have to so we don't miss Jake...

We had dinner at Prime Time where they abuse you..one year they actually did the little airplane to Shane to make him eat his vegetables...this year though drunken Uncle Jimmy wasnt there, we had a babysitter so it was a lot more lax (normally your waiters or waitresses abuse you, tell you to take your arms off the table, make you stand in teh corner and so forth)..all the tv's show old shows from the 50's..YES they actually had tv back then...it was very relaxed kinda day...we headed home early bcuz we already saw the show they have here on Monday...

We did make it to "THE" signing area...we showed up a couple hours earlier and once again (our good luck) a cast member told Shane that different characters walk through here about 5:00 so you never know who's gonna be there or how long they can stay, but we decided to come back to see who we could find..JACKPOT !!! (Good thing we bought a signature album JUST for Rapunzel)..lol

It was a fun, more relaxed kinda day where we just kinda wandered, soaked up the heat and drank beer...ha ha ha

Beach Palooza

This past Saturday I ran a 5k race (well some people were racing) in the sand at Galveston...The first half was pure running (did I mention in the sand?) and the rest was obstacles...It kicked my BUTT !!! I have never done anything like this, but was kinda proud of myself..not only did i finish, I finished in 58:06...I have some pics, but most of them are taken from a plastic, waterproof camera so they aren't that clear..oh well...we did it and are definetely training for the next one !!! Thea and I finished the race, went to a BIG mexican lunch, walked the Strand and headed home..It was a very good day..

MINE

Yes I need to finish uploading the vacation photos, but I thought I would share...Not thinking that school for the kiddos is a real good idea...

Austin new thing is MINE...he takes something and holds it to his chest and says MINE..most of the time it's something you don't want him to have or you have taken something away from him and he grabs something else and says MINE, almost like a challenge...NOT LIKING THIS NEW ONE !!!

Keira brought home her first permission slip for a field trip...SIGH...of course they need volunteers, not sure if I am the right one for the job though..I will not put up with a bunch of crap from little kids I don't like..lol...

Day 4 - Magic Kingdom

Yup, I did it...I scheduled an early morning after being at the park til midnight the night before..nice, uhn?? lol...We got to see a rope drop (finally !! For those that don't know, every park does a little "thing" before offically opening and at MK it's a song and dance number)..Since Austin hasn't had a haircut in about 2 weeks he was due (ha ha ha)..seriously I just wanted to get it done and Keira of course needed to be "pixied"...then we spent the day enjoying all the different lands, rode the Magic Carpets (Keira made us go up and down and Austin controlled which way we tilted..oh boy !!!), saw the new Enchanted Tiki Room (don't like it, like the old version better), rode Pirates of the Carribbean (no there is NOT a waterfall, GRAMPA!!!), then played rider swap while we rode Big Thunder Mountain..we wanted to do Splash Mountain, but there was a 40 minute wait...oh well...then we headed to the monorail and rode it around the park and over to Epcot...it was a nice way to relax for about 30 - 45 minutes before lunch and allowed Austin to nap in the stroller...After that, LUNCH AT CINDERELLA'S CASTLE !!! I do have to say I was a little dissappointed this year with that..last year we were there for dinner and each princess got an introduction and would come by and talk to the whole table, this year they were already in the room and seemed in a big hurry to move onto the next table...After lunch it was lots more exploring and then we parked Grampa with the kids for the parade and headed over to Space Mountain to ride it twice..lol..we did that a couple times..park Grampa and the kiddos and take off for some rides..Worked great for us, Grampa on the other hand had to deal with a few meltdowns...oh well, not our problem, we were on a ride..HA HA HA !!!! We FINALLY got to see the Spectromagic Parade and it was soooo cool, then we decided to head home..we skipped the fireworks that night (shhhhh don't tell Keira she missed some, never mind both of them were completely done in)

Now while we were there we started standing in line to meet Rapunzel..it was a TWO HOUR wait in the SUN at 1:00 pm..told Keira, no way...but her Daddy, being him made it happen..he talked to the guy at the rope and found out that MK had extra magic hours for resort guests only..which means the park opens 1 hour early for us...so we get the park at 8:00 in the morning, Rapunzel comes out at 9:15, we are outta there by 9:30 and on our way...worked great..got there at 8:30 (what, you didn't expect us to be on time did you??), sent Shane to the line and we got some breakfast then we waited...it was worth every minute !!!!

Day 3 - MNSSHP

Was there any doubt that we would make it back here again?? We love Halloween and this is one of the coolest things I have ever seen..they shut down Magic Kingdom (unless you buy the ticket for the Halloween party, which of course is extra) and they have a special parade, special shows, trick or treating, special photo pass opportunities, and most of the rides are open and lines are VERY short..shoot, we walked right onto It's A Small World (isn't that flippin' exciting)..The kids had a blast (well Keira did for sure)...Austin crashed as we got in the gate...oh did I forget to mention the nap that was scheduled (read previous post)..the kids must not have read the spread sheet I made bcuz THEY DIDN'T NAP !!!! Shane says it's bcuz we laid them both down together, every few minutes you would hear giggling and laughter and sssshhhh Austin, Momma and Daddy are gonna hear....ha ha ha..it was pretty cute and at least they got some down time...
