Ahhhh Screamfest

And no we aren't talking about the bad B movies around here..lol..Poor Monkey normally wakes up about midnight screaming and it takes me about an hour to put him back to sleep..then we do it all over again at 4ish..so between Keira deciding that "sleep is boring and not one my favorite things to do" and his screaming I am averaging about 3 hours sleep a night..The GOOD news..he used to wake up a lot more during the night, so the antibiotics MUST be working..but I am done..I have decided tonight when we go in for our follow up with the doc on Tuesday I am getting the referral...this poor kid has basically been sick for almost 6-7 months..add that to the first 3 months of his life and you hitting almost 50%..which really makes me wonder if what we thought was colic when he was younger was actually ear infections..they say that most kids can beat them without antibiotics and they are normally gone in three days..so his body could fit them and now it can't?? hmmm something to ask the doctor on Tuesday..oh well..it's been almost an hour since he started and got his ibuprofen..I think he's done for a couple hours..cross your fingers and say a little prayer that we can get this taken care of for him..I want my happy little man back.

Old McDonald's Farm

We went to Old McDonald's Farm with Keira's class today..we had so much fun..there were animals to see and ride and a giant pile of sand to climb in..yes THAT was the highlight of the trip..A giant pile of sand..whatever makes them happy...lol

 I am not sure who the girl in the red shirt was (she's not in Keira's class) but she ran up and gave her a hug and then they took off into the field..this was a big hit..a big field to run in (??)

She has been obsessed with "chickies" since the Rodeo

They have 5 deer that run around the place..I originally thought there was something wrong with this one since i didn't know about the other deer and it was just laying there..nope, happy as can be to be petted (can't you tell..lol)

Leave it to my child to figure out how to open the cages..i don't think they are supposed to do that..

Queen of the hill

Monkey conned Grandma into taking him up the hill (as high as they could without actually climbing)..he would stand there and hold his hand up for help and say "Help Grandma"...lol

He thanked her by handing her a present

A big sand rock..oooohhhhhhh (hey Keira brouht me a rock.."look Mommy I found this pretty colored rock" "honey that's not a rock, that's some old gum"..lol)

He LOVED this truck..I am not sure why (maybe it was the handles) but he played with it for a long time (well long in Monkey time)

This Peacock was hanging out around the pavilion..this is the loudest bird..and it sounds like he is saying "HHHEEEELLLLPPPPP"..really clearly..ha ha ha

Keira tried the monkey bars on her own and couldn't, so Momma helped out..is this considered cheating??

It was too cold to stay there for our picnic, so I promised her we would have a picnic on the living room floor and I would start a fire

 

He fought us all day to not fall asleep and then finally, he lost it...

Keira's Drawings

We all know that ALL parents think their kids are super talented..Well I am no different...Keira loves to draw..Today we bought the Tangled movie so of course we had to draw from it..These took her about 5 - 10 minutes each..I labeled each one as she explained them to me..I am pretty impressed (especially for a 4 year old) bcuz I can't draw a straight line with a ruler

 

 

the only touch ups I did was make them a little darker so they would show up better after the scan..it scanned them a little light

Two Sick Kiddos

Took Monkey to the doctor this morning..It’s not allergies or a cold..it’s another ear infection..well DOUBLE ear infection..She gave him a breathing treatment at the office (yea, that was fun) and then a script for an inhaler and antibiotics..She did say that if this doesn’t clear up or he gets another one, it’s onto the ENT to talk about tubes..this is his 5th or 6th since September…She heard Keira’s cough and wanted to know how long she had that. I told her since the bronchitis Keira had three weeks ago. It kinda cleared up, but showed up again with all the pollen. Well guess what, she has a DOUBLE ear infection too !!!! So they are both on antibiotics..This is actually her first. Keira has not been sick a lot, Austin has spent A LOT of his first almost 15 months (insert gasp, yes it’s been that long already) sick..Poor little man..I am not sure about tubes, bcuz he is so young, but we have to do something..he’s miserable all the time…

Bird Feeders

So we all know the old school bird feeders..peanut butter, pine cones and bird seed..I had kinda forgotten about this til I saw a friend's blog about them making them...well it sounded like so much we HAD to do it..lol...it was quite an experience..

 He stole the bowl of peanut butter and dumped bird seed into it and then started playing with it

 Tikaani was not happy to be kept off the deck

 Of course after we were done "someone" had to play in the seeds

 She even managed to get some in Austin's hair

And spread them everywhere

** Note to self..next time, buy some cheap peanut butter to use..Kids use ALOT of peanut butter on these things** ha ha ha

Kiddos and Coughing

It's almost midnite and I am sitting here listening to both my kids cough..Keira had bronchitis a couple weeks ago and was put on antibiotics..She seemed to be better, but to me it was an almost..They have both been coughing the last couple of days..most of it I chalked up to the all the pollen (and whatever else is out there) floating around..Monkey is coughing really bad..he's burning up, but the thermometer says no fever..He even took his plug out of his mouth earlier, handed it to me and just sat there..almost like he was trying to catch a breath..I told Shane that if he didn't seem better tomorrow then we are headed some kind of doc...We love his, but I am not waiting til Monday to see what she has to say..We will keep you posted..

My little Monkey calls me Da-Da..yes, still..he knows my name and CAN say Mama..chooses to call me Dada..he thinks it's funny..watch...

Bounce Bounce Bounce

Took the kids out to the backyard today..It was Austin's first time really in the trampoline..it's hard to hear (bcuz I was on the B.A.D), but you can hear him say "bounce bounce bounce"

Got Another Reader on Our Hands

We all know Keira loves to read, well so does Austin. We started reading to him regularly every day before nap time and bed times. We always sit in Shane's chair (that way there is room since most nights Keira likes to read to him)..Well now when the urge strikes him he will run to you and bring you a book and tell you "book" or "read" and run to the chair..

It's Messy Learning To Eat

It's been a messy week around here...Keira has become obsessed with eating oatmeal for breakfast..Well remember what Keira wants, Austin wants too..So he had to have oatmeal..the first day he very calmly ate HALF of my bowl AFTER his two Eggo waffles and cheerios..well the next day he HAD to feed himself..no way was I gonna feed him like a baby....

Getting His Sister

Boy he already knows how to push Keira's buttons (no pun intended)...he LOVES to go into my room when she is watching tv and turn it off !!! It makes her soooo mad..lol

So Tikaani is shedding..That is stating it lightly..I have had dogs that shed before..Cujo hair stuck in everything..this is ridiculous !!!

The Tent...

Well when one gets in the tent, they both have to get in the tent..Austin LOVES the tent..I didn't get a very good pic, but he dives into it and then falls down and just laughs...

He lost interest quick, but boy does she know how to get his attention..watch him when he climbs..he lifts the seat up to step IN the seat..he started doing this a couple months ago

Keira's Camp-out

Keira wanted to camp last week so we did..I got out her tent, her camping chair and even packed her a lunch...She was surrounded in the "woods" by all kinds of wild animals...A couple snakes, a white tiger, a rhino, a bunny, a bear (yes it's pink), a worm, a possum (and I told Shane we wouldn't have a use for a stuffed possum), and elephant and an alligator...amazing that they all live in the same area, uhn?? lol
