Daddy's Day

We surprised Shane with a trip on Daddy's day..He has seen The Salt Lick Barbecue place on tv a dozen times and has been dying to go there..so we loaded the kids up and headed to Austin for the day..hee hee hee..he had no clue..It was lots of fun..stopped at the Texas History Museum and since it was refugee day we got in free (yes FREE, I even coupon on trips), but someone did go out an unauthorized exit door and the fire alarm went off and we had to EVACUATE the museum, did you know how tall a true three story building is?? LOL..did you know that during a fire exvacuation you CANNOT take the elevator with your stroller??? Luckily there was a very nice couple that offered to help Shane carry one side of Austin's stroller down the stairs..I could have done it, but damn that was ALOT of stairs..lol..
Shane and kids on front of star

Then we kinda just drove around the city and let the kids rest and take a nap before dinner..it was really cool..saw parts of Austin I have never seen before..up and down the hills in the "BIG" house areas...Then we headed off to dinner..The Salt Lick is world famous and you would not believe the size of it..TINY..lol..they have added another building and a winery, but the main restaurant looks alot bigger on tv..still it was lots of fun..it's in the middle of nowhere and they have cops directing traffic on Saturday nights bcuz it gets so busy...the food was okay..Shane LOVED the ribs and would kill to cook them like that, mine..ehh..I think that the Chappell Hill sausage is better and Shane's brisket is definetly better..but he loved it and that's all that matters.. (the pics were taken with my phone bcuz i didn't feel like dragging the big camera in with everything else)

Austin LOVED the food..he actually ate more sausage than Keira..I was really surprised too..the sausage had a little kick to it and he didn't care..loved it

Sausage, brisket, cole slaw with a very light vinegar dressing instead of mayo, beans and a mashed potato salad with ?
It was gooooooodd

The pit right by the front door

The cook let Shane and Keira go back by the pit and look at it

On the way home we saw a sign for Buda and I jokingly said let's visit your company store there..he said if he was gonna head to Buda it would be to go to Cabellas..well guess were we ended up..lol..Ended up closing down the store and heading home at 9:00..it was lots of fun
They had this amazing 360 degree landscape full of stuffed animals..this was their stuffed Dolf

The "shoot" game..she normally loves to play these but this time she just wanted to tell us what to shoot

Daddy, shoot the bird..Daddy shoot the guy in the head..ahhhhhh family bonding

We HAD to sit with the bear and have a pick taken

And of course we had to climb on the rocks so take a pic with the moose
